Hello from me and Pumpkin! We've lived in Mexico for more than six months now and in Mexico City for two months!

Home in Mexico

Praise the Lord ... He led me to an apartment that's about a five-minute walk from the seminary where our office is! I signed the lease in late November and now have keys to my own space.

My One Mission Society (OMS) missionary friends/family have helped me find reasonable prices on good quality products to fill my new home. These items, each provided specifically by the Lord, are being stored in the seminary until I officially move (sometime this month!). I thank the Lord for his personal gifts-such as an apartment so close to the seminary!

Hosting Teams

In late October, the OMS Mexico team and I welcomed two women from the USA for a few days as part of a small but enjoyable ministry exploration visit. Last week we hosted a team from OMS USA Finance, including an external auditor, as they conducted a routine audit of field finances. Some aspects of the team were different than normal, but overall it was a good time. There's a group picture of this team below.

Through these teams and other meetings, I'm stepping more into my short-term team coordinator ministry. It's a joy to help before, during, and after people visit. I'm blessed to have enough Mexico knowledge to contribute while continuing to learn (from fellow missionaries Troy, Jenny, and Margaret) with guests on the field.

We're already praying about and planning for teams in 2026!

Spanish

I continue learning Spanish for one hour each week, working with Maritza (in Costa Rica, via Google Meet) who taught me so much through our lessons in 2024! This structured learning, as well as everyday interactions with friends and coworkers in Spanish, help me use and grow my language skills.

Holidays

I spent Thanksgiving with my OMS Mexico missionary family and some of their friends. It was relaxed and fun!

Pumpkin pie, whipped cream, and homemade ice cream ... all Thanksgiving musts that made it feel like home!

I'll be in Mexico City for Christmas and plan to spend it with the Gentrys, as well. They and Margaret have welcomed me with patience, generosity, and kindness.

Spending significant holidays in Mexico, away from family, presents different challenges while providing opportunities to build community and create traditions in my new home.

Sweet Pumpkin remains healthy, happy, and hilarious!

Praises and Prayer Requests

I'm ever grateful for all of you. Your prayers and support make all the difference in my missionary adventure in Mexico!

I thank the Lord for my teammates who continue to help me practically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Please pray for me as I move into my new place: for me to feel comfortable, learn how to live there, and for good relationships with my neighbors.

Please pray for me and my family as our holiday season will be different this year.

Please pray as I continue learning about life and ministry in Mexico.

May your December be filled with reminders of God's presence and goodness!

One Mission Society is on YouVersion

... and you can find two snippets by yours truly in the mix! One Mission Society (OMS) posted its first devotional in the well-known YouVersion app a couple months before my last day serving as associate editor in the OMS USA Communications Department. Follow OMS on YouVersion Before this launch on YouVersion, a former coworker asked the Communications team to compile a missions-themed devotional to use as a resource that would

What's New in Mexico?

What's New in Mexico?

Monday (September 15) marked the first day of my last three-week cycle of Spanish studies in Puebla. I've reached Level 8, which completes the structured instruction at this institute. I am the only student in my class, which will be very beneficial but also quite draining. My final day of school will be October 3, but my Spanish learning journey will be lifelong! I will move back to
