Fulfilling Time in Morelia and ... Introducing Flor! 🚗
Happy Saturday from Mexico!
FLOR!
Praise the Lord for providing a reliable, reasonably priced, good-sized, low mileage, and fun car!
I christened her "Flor" because I often tell people I'm like a flower: I need sun and water (via my trusty water bottle). 😆🌞🥤🥀 I'm so grateful for God's faithfulness, as well as your prayers and generosity that made this possible!
I've driven several times in Mexico and am excited (albeit a bit nervous) to continue the learning process! Prayers for situational awareness, directional accuracy, and safety are appreciated.

Ministry in Morelia
Members of the One Mission Society (OMS) Mexico team and I spent several days in Morelia, the capital of the state of Michoacán, at the beginning of this month. We attended two collaborative ministry events while encouraging local pastors, leaders, and believers in the area.

QR Bible Presentation
Our first ministry event was on Thursday. This was a presentation of a Spanish version of the Life Essentials interactive study Bible. Those in attendance were pastors, ministry leaders of various ages, and believers discipling others. They can now use what they learn from the interactive QR Bible they received for free in their own walks with Christ, as well as to benefit others.
This all happened in partnership among Satura Mexico (OMS' church multiplication and discipleship ministry in Mexico), the Bible Society of Mexico, the publisher of the QR Bibles, and a few local churches.

So many Bibles! Praise the Lord for this unique, profound resource given to several believers.
Purépecha Audio Bible Presentation and Celebration
Friday was an impactful day attending the distribution of free audio Bibles (also called "proclaimers") to several believers in the indigenous Purépecha area of Michoacán. OMS' Satura Mexico teamed up with the Bible Society of Mexico to give hundreds of people an audio Bible in their heart language!
Watching the Word of God literally spread to an underreached people group was a gift. We trust God will work in those that received these Bibles and beyond!

These pictures, which I gleaned from social media posts about the event, help capture the joy of many who received a complete audio Bible in their own language ... some for the first time.
Below is a video of what the Bible sounds like in one dialect of the Purépecha language. Obviously, I didn't understand the words, but hearing the Word in someone else's heart language brought tears to my eyes!
Weekend Connections
Ricardo, director of Satura Mexico, invited me and Luke (OMS Mexico's first of a few mid-term missionaries/interns in 2026) to extend our stay in Morelia and speak to a group of young people. Each day was full and life-giving.
Saturday evening, Ricardo, Luke, and I each spoke to a young adults group at a church we have connections with in Morelia. I got to write my speech and share in Spanish ... I thank God for my coworkers who helped me proofread my testimony and devotional thoughts I shared!
Several of the young people who attended Saturday night serve as volunteers with Satura Mexico and regularly share the Gospel door-to-door and/or in public places of Morelia. Their dedication and passion are an inspiration!
On Sunday I shared in front of a different church connection in Morelia. Part of the adventure of this opportunity was a fairly last-minute invitation. The Lord gave me words from Psalm 46, and I shared in English through a Mexican translator. It was great to speak in front of more brothers and sisters in Christ!
This bonus time in Morelia with Ricardo and Luke gave me sweet and unique interactions with people I'll have long-term relationships with as I continue serving the Lord in Mexico.

Some pictures from the weekend ... Ricardo, me, and Luke watched part of the Super Bowl at a pizza place in Morelia.
Team Time
Not only was this time in Michoacán encouraging from a national ministry standpoint, but it also provided recreational and relational fun with many of my teammates! We walked around Morelia's and Paracho's main square, enjoyed views of the cathedral, and visited/scouted two different camps where we plan to hold future ministry events.

Back in Mexico City
We have several short-term teams planned for the rest of the year. The next team arrives this evening!
Please pray for God's ongoing guidance as I help coordinate these teams and keep learning various aspects of my role.

The Lord provided a fantastic pet-sitter while I traveled to Morelia, and I'm incredibly thankful. She sent me videos and pictures every day (two of which are above), and Pumpkin enjoyed playing with her. A huge blessing!
I remain in awe of how the Lord answers prayers every day. Thank you for your multi-faceted support that allows me to serve the Lord in Mexico!
